Why is enamel so important?

Enamel is the hardest substance in our body and it is the outer protective layer present on each tooth to prevent various agents of tooth decay. Apart from being the hardest substance, it is also the most mineralized substance of the body and therefore very important to look after.

Whenever we eat or drink the food substance, acids, and bacteria comes in direct contact with the teeth. Thanks to the enamel that provides the protective covering which does not let these substances to attack our teeth directly.

Once damaged, enamel does not grow again. Damaged enamel leads to the sensitivity of teeth. In this case, you become too conscious of the cold and hot things before eating because that leads to painful sensation in the tooth cavity.

Brush brush brush (but not too hard)

Brushing your teeth two times a day is important. It keeps your gums free from bacterial action. Make sure to use a mild toothbrush instead of harsh ones. This also helps in stain removal. Excessive brushing may also damage your enamel. A mild brushing along with flossing and mouthwash is more than enough to maintain oral health.

Use a good mouthwash

Mouthwash cleans those corners where brush or floss does not reach. It gives a 360-degree protection to your mouth. Using a good mouthwash can enhance your oral health to the next level.

Pick the correct toothpaste

You must choose your toothpaste wisely. Nowadays many kinds of toothpaste use a huge amount of peroxides to make your teeth white. Don’t get fooled. Use mild toothpaste containing enough chloride to mineralize your teeth and prevent enamel damage.

Floss Properly

Brushing removes only 50 percent of the germs but flossing removes 90 percent of germs alone. It is an ideal way because it helps in cleaning even those places where brushes cannot reach.
