June 6, 2018

When you have hot drinks or cold drinks and if it hurts your teeth, then it is probably time to consult a dentist. It is likely that you are suffering from sensitive teeth.

One can also experience such things by eating sweets and sour foods.

Now in order to treat such pain, you need to know the cause; once you know it you will find the solution too.

Keep in mind the below-mentioned things to get rid of sensitive teeth.

Take proper care of your tooth enamel

Enamel is the outer covering of your teeth which is probably responsible for protecting everything that you put on your teeth. If you feel pain then your enamel might have worn away.

People who have worn their enamel are likely to be suffering from worn enamel.

Don’t brush your teeth roughly

Enamel is mostly worn away due to hard brushing.

Enamel worn away faster if you brush side to side. One must also avoid the gum line while brushing. In order to protect your enamel, make sure to seek a brush that has soft bristles. This will help your enamel to be strong and healthy.

Intake of acidic food and drinks must be avoided

If you are very much fond of soda and carbohydrates enriched with sugar, then it’s time to say goodbye to all these items.

They are known to attack the enamel which results in sensitive teeth. You can replace such food items with fiber-rich foods, milk, and yogurt.

These foods will help your enamel to get moisten and will restrict the growth of bacteria which are responsible for eating away your teeth.

Instead, you can also have green tea and chew gums that are sugarless. It is recommended to not brush teeth soon, if you intake something acidic.

Gap from bleaching

The hunt for pearly white teeth may be the root cause of pain.

However, it is observed that sensitivity does not result due to bleaching. It is advisable to consult a dentist whether you should continue with any treatment or not.

Teeth unclench

Grinding of various food items wears away your teeth enamel.

If you are suffering from such cause, then your dentist will probably advise you for a mouth guard. However, if it still does not work, it probably requires other treatment. You may be required to change the position of your teeth.
